Succulents are plants with parts that are thickened, fleshy, and engorged, usually to retain water in arid climates or soil conditions. The word succulent comes from the Latin word Sucus, which means Juice or Sap. Succulent plants store water in leaves and stems. Succulents are often grown as ornamental plants because of their striking and unusual appearance. They are usually desert plants that have the ability to thrive with relatively minimal care.
There are over 10,000 known succulent species around the world. Aloe Vera, Pincushion Cactus & Snake Plant are prime examples.
